Some picture books are soft in a forgettable way. Moon’s Lullaby sounds soft on purpose, which is much harder to pull off.
I like books for children that do not mistake gentleness for emptiness. The best ones hold a real emotional note inside the quiet, something a child can feel even before they have words for it.
This sounds like it may do exactly that, which is usually enough for me to be charmed.
